Tightrope 2197mod 72

This was a commissioned by a jazz pianist. The client wanted a piano shaped piece that wasn't too literal so the shape was turned so it looks like a heart. The "C's" are a shape found in both the bass and treble clefs. The client also wanted loops. Within the piece, the C's act as rhythm and the loops as the melody or the notes. One of the loops is positioned as the note that got away as in jazz improvisation. The piece is named after a piece of music the client--Jerome Academia composed. I listened to the music during the design process and it influenced the concept.
